How to start an online business in 8 simple steps?

3. Offer for Free

Now, you should offer your skill for free. I’m not telling you to provide it for free; offer it for free; it’s somehow different. For example, your target audience is related to digital marketing, and you know that someone has an Instagram account. So, create a few Instagram posts related to his/her niche, and send them an email. You can do this with as many people as you can, and some of them may like your work and will contact you to work with you further.

4. Create a Portfolio

When you offer your skill or service for free, you can build some reviews and testimonials.  The people who love your work will surely give you nice reviews or feedback. And you can further use it to build your portfolio. A portfolio is actually an online page that shows your past work and the reviews you got for your work.

5. Sell your Service

After you have a good portfolio, it becomes easy to sell your service to other people. Now, you can turn your free service into a source of earning. You can register yourself on a freelance website and start offering your skill as a paid service. There are many freelance websites available online like Freelancer, Upwork, Toptal, etc.

6. Promote

In this step, you need to promote your service. You should not just sit back and wait for customers to come after publishing your skill on freelance websites. If you have a budget, you can use paid ads. But cold mailing and direct DMs are the two best free ways to communicate with your audience or clients. 

7. Scale with Products

Here you simply need to turn your service into a product. For example, you can build a digital marketing agency that provides a package of Ads management, social media management, growth hacking, etc. So, now you’ll start selling your full services as a real business. Further, you can add digital products. This way, you can scale your business.

8. Automate your Business

In this step, after your business is now scaling, you can hire other people for your business. You can hire a freelancer or a fresher with a nice skill who will work for you and your clients. So, you can focus on research and scaling your business further.
